Armor Lux

Founded in 1838 in Quimper, a city in the North West of Brittany, France Armor Lux has been producing the famous Breton striped shirts and sweaters since the 1850's. Originally produced as a mandatory uniform for seamen in the English channel given their high visibility from the bold pattern. Otherwise known as la marinière (the sailor), le pull marin (the sailor sweater) or the tricot rayé (the striped knit) the Breton has remained unchanged.  Made famous in the fashion cirlcles by the likes of Pablo Picasso, James Dean and Brigitte Bardot this iconic piece has been a fashion staple for men and woman ever since.
